Beard in Mind, an all new standalone in the bestselling, romantic comedy Winston Brothers Series by Penny Reid, is coming August 1st!

BIM-cover (2)

All is fair in love and auto maintenance.

Beau Winston is the nicest, most accommodating guy in the world. Usually.

Handsome as the devil and twice as charismatic, Beau lives a charmed life as everyone’s favorite Winston Brother. But since his twin decided to leave town, and his other brother hired a stunning human-porcupine hybrid as a replacement mechanic for their auto shop, Beau Winston’s charmed life has gone to hell in a handbasket.

Shelly Sullivan is not nice and is never accommodating. Ever.

She mumbles to herself, but won’t respond when asked a question. She glares at everyone, especially babies. She won’t shake hands with or touch another person, but has no problems cuddling with a dog. And her damn parrot speaks only in curse words.

Beau wants her gone. He wants her out of his auto shop, out of Tennessee, and out of his life.

The only problem is, learning why this porcupine wears her coat of spikes opens a Pandora’s box of complexity—exquisite, tempting, heartbreaking complexity—and Beau Winston soon discovers being nice and accommodating might mean losing what matters most.

Today is officially the worst day of my life…

I woke up five hours late after a reckless one-night stand with the sexiest, cockiest, and most arrogant man I’ve ever met. (And this asshole actually left a note: “I think you were lying to me about being “experienced” last night. You orgasmed three times, and that was before we made it to your bedroom. I also find it hard to believe you “usually wear silk or lingerie.” Your drawers are all full of cotton granny panties–The best man you’ve ever fucked…)

My top two PR clients left me for my number one competitor, my roommate accidentally bleached my best suit, and my favorite coffee shop was shut down for “health concerns.”

Still, none of those things dimmed my excitement for what was supposed to be the best four o’clock signing session of my career. I was on the verge of signing the highest paying client in my company’s history, taking on a so-called “impossible” job that no publicist had been able to handle.

But at four o’clock, there was no athlete, television personality, or celebrity who showed up. Instead, that sexy, arrogant one-night stand stepped into my office with his familiar panty-wetting smirk and introduced himself as my new, cocky client…

Release Blast | Review + Excerpt | Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne

The City’s HOTTEST Cold War is here!

WALK OF SHAME
a Love Unexpectedly novel
Lauren Layne
Releasing April 18th, 2017
Loveswept

Sparks fly between a misunderstood New York socialite and a cynical divorce lawyer in this lively standalone rom-com from the USA Today bestselling author of Blurred Lines and Love Story.

Pampered heiress Georgianna Watkins has a party-girl image to maintain, but all the
shopping and clubbing is starting to feel a little bit hollow—and a whole lot lonely. Though Georgie would never admit it, the highlights of her week are the mornings when she comes home at the same time as her uptight, workaholic neighbor is leaving to hit the gym and put in a long day at the office. Teasing him is the most fun Georgie’s had in years—and the fuel for all her naughtiest daydreams.

Celebrity divorce attorney Andrew Mulroney doesn’t have much time for women, especially spoiled tabloid princesses who spend more time on Page Six than at an actual job. Although Georgie’s drop-dead gorgeous, she’s also everything Andrew resents: the type of girl who inherited her penthouse instead of earning it. But after Andrew caps one of their predawn sparring sessions with a surprise kiss—a kiss that’s caught on camera—all of Manhattan is gossiping about whether they’re a real couple. And nobody’s more surprised than Andrew to find that the answer just might be yes.

MY REVIEW
5 STARS

Walk of Shame follows pampered heiress, Georgianna Watkins, and celebrity divorce attorney, Andrew Mulroney. Georgianna and Andrew moved to the same apartment complex on the same exact date. They have been bumping heads since.

Lauren Layne have once again reminded me why she is an auto-read/auto-buy author for me. Her portrayal the enemies-to-lovers’ trope is like none other. She is the queen of this trope. And I can guarantee I will love anything she writes on it.

From the start you can tell there is more to Georgie than partying all night till dawn, making weekly salon appointments, and organizing charity events. Georgie goes out of her way to get donuts for the doorman, and she shows genuine interest in his personal life. While Andy is a no nonsense, serious guy. He doesn’t have time to chit chat the way Georgie does.

Right from their first meeting in the book, we could feel the tension and chemistry. Their banter, wit, and sass is all kinds of perfection. I could not have asked for witter banter. Their regular 5 am meetings are something Georgie looks forward to every morning. Georgie is clearly affected with Andy’s perception of her and Andy is enamoured by her vivacious personality.

They somehow find themselves in a romantic relationship and find they do fit in each other’s lives. Neither have experienced the type love and romance they do with each other. It’s glorious watching them understand and adapt to it. I truly adored the realistic and subtle approach Layne used. I could not have fallen more in love with this. Thank you so much for this beautiful piece of work.

EXCERPT

And who is he, you ask?

Andrew Mulroney, Esquire.

I know this because we moved into the building on the exact same day, and right before we got into a horrendous fight over whose movers should have access to the building loading dock first, he handed me his business card.

The thick white card stock declared that he had a fancy law degree to go along with the fancy suit he was wearing on a Saturday.

Andrew handed it over with such superiority, I actually wished for a half second that I had a business card of my own that would somehow be better than his. Like, lined with gold or something. No, platinum. With a diamond in the corner. It would be too heavy for him to hold, and he’d drop it, thus having to kneel at my feet to pick it up.

But then I realized it was just as well that I didn’t have a business card.

Because it would say . . . what? Georgie Watkins, professional party girl?

Anyway, I digress. Despite the high temps of that swampy July morning, the encounter had been the start of an epic cold war.

Me, the socialite in apartment 86A against the uptight esquire in apartment 79B.

I’m not entirely sure I’m winning the war, but I’ll never tell him that.

I let my gaze drift over Andrew, even though his appearance rarely holds any surprises. The man’s a lesson in sameness, like some sort of anal-retentive version of Groundhog Day.

There’s always the black mug with some healthy gunk inside held in his right hand, Tom Ford briefcase and Armani garment bag in his left, containing what I know to be a perfectly tailored three-piece suit.

Andrew’s coppery hair is perfectly styled, although I’d swear that there’s some natural curl in there threatening to disrupt his perfect order. I imagine that annoys him, so it therefore makes me happy.

Let’s see, what else about my nemesis?

He’s got a hard, unfriendly jawline that’s perfectly shaven.

Dark brown eyes, cold and flat. Black gym bag over one shoulder.

I suppose you could say he changes up his attire, because he does alternate between black and gray gym shirts. But considering that they seem to be the exact same fit, both colors molding perfectly to his impressively sculpted upper body, we’re not giving him any points for variety there.

Same goes for the lower half. The black shorts worn in summer have given way to sleek black sweatpants now that October’s upon us, but they’re both black and Nike, so we’ll give him no credit for changing it up there either.

The shoes, though . . .

I do a double take.

Well, well, well . . .

Instead of the usual black gym shoes, the man’s shoes are red. I don’t know how I missed it before.

I drag my eyes back up his body with a grin, and he gives just the slightest roll of his eyes to indicate that he’s noticed my slow perusal and isn’t fazed in the least.

“You went shopping, Dorothy!” I say happily.

He stares at me. “I don’t shop.”

Of course not. Far too frivolous.

“No, that makes sense,” I say, pointing at his feet. “Glinda would have given these to you.”

Andrew looks down at his Rolex watch. “I’ve got to go. Have a good day, Mr. Ramirez.”

“You too, Mr. Mulroney,” Ramon says with a deferential nod. “Enjoy your workout.”

“Yes, do,” I say, turning and watching as Andrew moves toward the front door of our building. “What’s on the schedule today? Treadmill, or just skipping down the Yellow Brick Road?”

Andrew Mulroney, Esquire, doesn’t respond. He doesn’t even turn before pushing through the revolving doors and stepping out into the still-dark autumn morning.

Now come on. Tell me that wasn’t at least a little bit fun, despite the ungodly hour.

thecadandco-edcover

THE CAD
Bryan Leech is a cad.
Or, he *was* a cad.
No one is quite certain.
Once the quintessential playboy, Bryan claims he’s done with wild parties and weekend benders. No more one night stands leading to mornings he can’t remember; no more binges and blackouts; no more exploits plastered all over the tabloids and rag sheets. According to Bryan, he’s cleaning up his act.
The only problem is, no one believes him.

THE CO-ED
Eilish Cassidy never thought she’d be a mother at nineteen or still in college at twenty-four. Cut off from every member of her family except her favorite cousin, she’s finally managed to put her life back together. Stronger and wiser, Eilish enters her last semester of university determined to stand on her own. Now she just needs to find an internship.
The only problem is, her best option—by far—places her directly in the path of her son’s father, and he doesn’t remember her at all.

THE PLAN
Bryan is determined to prove he’s changed. Eager to settle down with the right woman, he’s got his sights set on the gorgeous redhead who seems terribly familiar.
Eilish is determined to hide her secret. She’ll do anything to keep her child safe, even if that means ignoring her own wishes and desires.
But what happens when Bryan starts to remember? And what will it take for Bryan to convince the girl he forgot that she’s unforgettable?

Books I Regret Not Reading in 2016

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/bc/be/28/bcbe287bf441e49fc567d84ff2831ac7.jpg

I know. I know. I’m terrible, but I’m here now. And hopefully will do a better job at being regular. Now without further ado let’s get started on the list of books I regret not reading in 2016.

24574656

1. Kingdom of Ashes by Rhiannon Thomas
I have wanted to read this for the longest time and I do not have an excuse to why I have not. I think maybe it’s because I do not want to say goodbye to the characters.

2. The Return by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Seth is my cuddle bunny, I love him to pieces. I just really wish I wasn’t lazy and read the book when it came out.

3. Heartless by Marissa Meyer
I was going to read this, I really was. I was on the waiting list for it, but my local library never sent me an email or text saying it was there for me to pick up. So I not only lost my hold, I also21396155 had to pay a fine.

4. The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury
I have been going crazy wanting to read this and why I have no read this is beyond me.

5. Bright Smoke, Cold Fire by Rosamund Hodge
I love retellings and this was one of my must read ones, but I ended up not reading it. I plan to change that this year…hopefully.

6. The Diabolic by S.J. Kinaid
In my defense I actually did start reading this, but I just never got a chance to finish it.

7. And I Darken by Kiersten White
I have been meaning to read some historical romances and I really wanted to start with this, but I never found an opportunity to.
32828290

8. The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E. Pearson
I do not want to say goodbye to Lia and Rafe.

9. Up the Seine Without a Paddle by Eliza Watson.
I actually did start reading this, I believe it was sometime near or after reading week, but then I got caught up with assignments, tests, projects, and etc. I didn’t get to go back to it. I hope to change that real soon. *fingers-crossed*

10. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
Ever since I read Six of Crows last spring I was craving for Crooked Kingdom, but it was released during school and I wanted to give this all my attention and binge read. Now, that doesn’t excuse the winter break and I really do not have a legitimate excuse for that, other than I was not/am not ready to say goodbye to the characters.
